More than ten years ago, the financial crisis prompted a re-evaluation of the industry: it became clear that good ideas alone, or the mere pursuit of profit, would not ensure a worthwhile future. Striking the healthy centre between the two suddenly seemed like the way forward. As we developed long-term investment opportunities and gained experience, one thing became increasingly clear: having a compass to point you in the right direction and remind you of your responsibilities helps you to avoid losing sight of your goals in the complex world of finance.

Fifteen years of competitive dancing requires discipline and passion. 2015: completion of a master’s degree and the move to Luxembourg. I stick to the beat – 160 bpm in business and 80 bpm for leisure. 2018: The music suddenly stops. Crashed. I take a deep breath and rise again. 2022: What seems effortless is the result of hard work. I now have a burning ambition to develop sustainable financial products together with my team, tailor-made to the speed of the customer.

Passing on a world worth living in to our grandchildren. This has been my sworn mission since the dotcom boom became a popular topic of conversation. In 1998, most people would say: ‘the faster the growth, the more disruptive the approach, the higher the valuation.’ I, on the other hand, had already set my sights on sustainable investments – not as a trendsetter, but out of conviction. It’s all the more gratifying to see that, in this day and age, it’s more than just a trend: fair-finance and Wisdomize are the fruits of my labour.

PROVIDER OF IDEAS
There have been three significant milestones in my life so far: in 1996, while serving as a blue helmet in Iraq, I ‘finally’ came of age. In 2002, I founded my first investment boutique, embracing high-speed capitalism. It was only halted in 2020 by the coronavirus lockdown. This gave me time to pause and reflect. The result was a realisation: in future, I want to contribute positively to society. With our team, partners and customers – and also by setting a valiant example for the entire competition.
